What happens in art therapy?
• We agree on what will help you feel safe, trusting and confident.
• You’ll be offered a range of art materials, pictures, fabrics, clays & objects to explore. Some will be familiar, some might be new to you.
• You might know exactly what you want to draw, paint, create or play around with. Or you may want to be given suggestions to get started.
• Its not about being good at art. Together we explore feelings, difficulties and help make sense of things.
What we offer
• 1-1 weekly sessions. Usually in blocks of 12 weeks. If you are receiving benefits you might be eligible for subsidised therapy. We will work around what you can afford.
• Group Art Therapy. Working in small groups with people who share similar issues, typically in blocks of 12 weekly sessions
• Open studio sessions. Time & space to work on your own artmaking alongside others and with a bit of support from a therapist
• Community projects Creative projects for different groups
